Piyush brings a blend of institutional finance and real estate expertise to Stronghold. Prior to founding Stronghold, Piyush spearheaded the acquisitions efforts at Tides Equities, a value-add multifamily sponsor based in Los Angeles, CA. At Tides, Piyush helped the firm acquire eight assets in the Phoenix and Inland Empire MSAs, totaling 2,400+ units and $314mm+ in transaction volume. In addition to sourcing, analyzing, and closing investment opportunities, he also helped oversee portfolio asset management and ran asset dispositions, with dispositions totaling 260+ units and $41mm+ in transaction volume.

Prior to joining Tides, Piyush developed a specialized financial and analytical skill set in investment banking, working first at McCafferty & Company, a Los Angeles-based boutique investment bank focused on media and technology, and then SunTrust Robinson Humphrey, an Atlanta-based corporate and investment bank, working out of the firm’s satellite San Francisco office, focusing on the Technology, Media and Telecommunications (TMT) sector. Representative transactions during his time in investment banking include the $130mm dividend recapitalization of an eCommerce rewards platform and the $50mm sale of a retail analytics firm.

Piyush graduated from the University of California, Berkeley with a B.S. in Environmental Economics & Policy, and currently resides in Playa Vista, CA.
